As we get closer and closer to the Annual Android Handset Giving Period commonly known by many as Christmas, another week of Android news grows to a close. This week has brought a number of new stories, including reports that YouTube are delaying their streaming music service, the news that Chrome apps could be coming to Android as early as January and more information about Google’s mysterious barges that first hit our headlines last month. Wearable technology is tipped to be the next big thing and so naturally Google, who never likes to lack in the innovation department, is seemingly getting ready to enter the incredibly young market head-first using Android.

Android’s version 4.4, KitKat, was just recently announced and the long list of under-the-hood internals are sure to please Android users everywhere. But amongst this long list of enhancements, certain features stand out to me for the reason that they are the exact type of improvements or additions that a wearable device needs, and would benefit greatly from. This is what leads me to believe that in the coming months we will see Google disrupting the wearable market like no other company can. But what will we see from them? I’ve done my best to decrypt the hints left in Android KitKat to find out!

Leaks, leaks and more leaks. That’s the word of the week in the Android world over the past seven days. This one-time run of week 42 of 2013 has hosted Nexus 5 leaks on the Google Play store, giving us a glimpse of the design and pricing of the device. We’ve also had a sneak peek at the future of SMS in Android post-KitKat and an unofficial glimpse at a redesigned Google Play Store for Android. Let’s jump in and take a look!
